Last weekend, Laura Morgan and Courtney Osterfelt held their 4th annual Launch into Summer Fashion Show to benefit The Launch Pad Teen Center. This years goal was to raise enough money to send at least 10 kids to teen summer camp. With the generous support of the local Prescott community this goal was realized. It was a fun filled evening with a silent auction, raffle items, complimentary wine and hors' d oeuvres.  Along with good food and good conversation, attendees were given a glimpse of what we can except for this years summer fashion. The event was sponsored by Fancy That, Classy and Sassy, Wild Daisy, Salon St. Martin, La La's Styling Studio, Clothes Hound, and Manzanita Outfitters. These local businesses are always on the lookout for the latest trends and they gave us a fabulous taste of what is in vogue. Take a peak at the Runway Fashions below to see some of what these local shops have to offer in summer fashion.

It is an amazing site to see when a town rallies around a cause in Prescott, AZ. The dancing for the Stars event was one event that could not be missed. It was an exciting and fun filled evening that could not have be done without the support of many local businesses and individuals. Not only did several people donate their time and experience but without the generous donations of many individuals, this evening would not have been so successful. Lets hope that this is just the beginning of a tradition that can be experienced for years to come. Lets take a look at some of the happenings of the evening....

Wolf Creek Falls

Wolf Creek falls is Prescott's tallest waterfall and just a short hike away. This seasonal creak may be covered in ice in the winter but provides great swimming holes in the heat of the summer during monsoon season.

Directions

Take Senator Hwy past Groom Creek untill the road turns to dirt. Just past the YMCA camp on your right, turn right onto Wolf Creek Rd towards Wolf Creek Campground. Pass the campground and continue to the trail sign 384. The trail crosses Wolf Creek Rd and there is a sign on both sides of the road. The trail to Wolf Creek Falls is the one on the left that hikes down into the gorge. You may need to drive a bit farther or turn around to find a good place to park. There is not a designated parking area. 

Hiking Directions

Hike distance - 0.5 miles or 1 mile roundtrip
From the access trail, hike about 0.3 miles slightly downhill until you reach Wolf Creek. To hike the easiest trail, cross the creek and take the first trail to your right. This trail parallels the creek. Within a few minutes you will see the first and smaller set of falls on your right (see photo). Many braided trails access these falls. If you continue a little further you can access the larger set of falls, seen in the photo above. The trail to these falls are a little steeper and many take a bit of scrambling around on tree roots and boulders. If you continue to scramble past these two sets of falls, before long Wolf Creek empties into Hassayampa Creek.

Danielle Hampton, you are blessed to have such wonderful friends. Friends that will be there to support you and your child's journey in this world. Friends that would never say no to a party of champagne, incredible food, and great company!!! 
       Thank you for including me in your celebration. Not only did I get to enjoy the amazing food provided by Olde World Bagels and Market, but I feel blessed to experience the love and generosity that emanates from your family and friends.

At the beginning of October, Kevin and Amber Blanchard, Troy Haines, and Jennifer James became the new owners of this amazing property. They are currently making a lot of changes in a hope to revitalize this wonderful site.
      The indoor hot tub and sauna are in the middle of renovations and they plan to make many other improvements to the facilities.  However, you don't need to wait for these projects to be completed. They are doing so much right now to make the Prescott Athletic Club a place that you want to visit today. The Club has swimming, tennis, racquetball, weight room, yoga classes, pilates, and so much more. Take a dance class taught by The Dance Studio, have a smoothie at the Court Side Cafe, or stop by on Thursday Night for Happy Hour from 4-8pm. Last week they had The Paul Ruffner Jazz Combo for happy hour. Drinks are not the only special at happy hour. Try a swim in the 83 degree outdoor swimming pool or play tennis for half price ($5 adults or $2.50 kids).

Day 2: Day of the Wedding

10:30am: Ok, we couldn't resist! While the boys were setting up, we had one more morning on the boat...
2:30pm: How could it get any better than this?
The trip started at Colorado River Discovery in Page, Az. We all loaded the busses and traveled down a 2 mile tunnel through the canyon wall and exited at the base of the Glen Canyon Dam. From there, we all rafted down the dramatic and beautiful Glen Canyon section of the Colorado River. We explored this amazing section of river for about 2 miles until we reached a quite sandy beach where we all shared in the celebration of Amanda and Korey's Wedding Vows!
6:30: The Afterparty!! Food, drinks, dancing. Followed by a lip sync/dance contest by the bride and groom. Best first dance ever...
